Mechanical Properties
The faculty center offers a small selection of methods to determine the mechanical properties of materials.
- Elastic constants of rods, spheres, or cylinders can be determined using resonance ultrasonic spectroscopy or the resonant beam technique. With suitable calibration, the local elastic modulus can also be determined using a microhardness tester.
- The Vickers hardness of a sample can also be measured with the microhardness tester available to us.
