Zeta potential measurement
Cordouan WALLIS
The zeta potential describes the interparticle interaction and allows for an assessment of the temporal stability of suspensions.
In the measurement principle used, Laser Doppler Electrophoresis, the particles are set into vibration by applying an alternating electric field. This movement causes a Doppler shift of the scattered light, from which the electrophoretic mobility and the zeta potential can be calculated.
